Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes
Cascara Vacation Rentals office is in The Village at Sunriver. Our address is 57100 Beaver Dr. Building 6 Suite 160 Sunriver, OR 97707 Our office is next to The Village Bar and Grill. If your home uses keys, they will be at our office when you check-in.
Cascara is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Because of this, all arrivals or departures are scheduled around those days. Our Summer office hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends. Our off-season hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends.
Please be sure to inform our office if you will be arriving after hours so we can set up other means for you to get your keys.
Check-in times begin at 4:00 PM and can possibly go later during the busier times. We will text the registered guest as soon as the home has been cleaned and inspected and is ready for your arrival. Check-out time is 11:00 AM.
The entire balance of your rental is due 45 days before arrival. A 50% rental deposit is due upon making the reservation. Deposits not paid within ten days risk cancellation. Any damage to the home, carpet, damage done by pets, or breach of the rental agreement can result in extra charges. If you paid for your reservation with a credit card, we will hold your credit card number as a deposit.
You are required to pay balances in full 45 days prior to arrival. Cancellations and changes made prior to 45 days before arrival are subject to a $75 non-refundable fee. Cancellations made within 45 days of arrival require full forfeiture of the rental amount.
The registered guest must be 25 years of age or older. Subletting of a rental home is prohibited.
Each home is privately owned, so some amenities vary. However, homes will have at a minimum kitchen cooking utensils, plates, and silverware, drip coffee makers, linens, and towels are provided. Cascara provides a starter of hand and dishwasher soap, toilet paper, tissue, and garbage bags. Guest(s) provides personal items, all edibles (this includes condiments and spices), and foil or saran wrap.
Just call the front desk and let us know. While equipment function cannot be 100% guaranteed, repairs to malfunctioning equipment will be done as soon as possible. Cascara will attempt to fix problems in a timely manner, within our means.
Cascara has your home cleaned prior to your arrival and again after you leave. If you have any concerns, please call us during our office hours and we will be happy to help.
Please return your keys to the office. No cleaning is required of the Guest(s) but if you would please start the dishwasher, it would be very much appreciated! Please make sure you do not shut off the heat, nor leave the hot tub jets on high.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please make sure you do not leave anything behind. If we have to go out and search or retrieve a lost item there will be a reasonable charge for fuel, labor, and shipping fees.
A $25.00 lost key fee for each house key and $30 for each condominium pool key is charged for each key not returned to the office.
Unfortunately, no (unless they’re under the age of five). Sunriver and Deschutes County (5.12.020) have occupancy ordinances designed to keep Sunriver the place you’d like to come back to. It is designed not to overtax the water, sewage, road, and other systems required in maintaining a smooth flowing environment. Only the number of people stated in the description of the property and on the postings in the home are permitted to sleep in the home. Violation of the maximum overnight occupancy is a class B infraction and subjects each occupant to a maximum of a $100.00 fine. Per owner’s contracts, maximum occupancy may be less than allowed by the Deschutes County occupancy ordinance.
There is a pet fee of $20 per day in homes that allow them. Please be sure to honor the pet policies in the description of the property as there are homeowners that are highly allergic to pets. Pets in a non-pet home are considered a breach of the rental agreement. Pet-doo must be removed to the proper containers. Pets must be on leashes or in carriers and should not disturb neighboring homes.
All of our homes are non-smoking. Smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pipes or other substances on or along any road, drive, lane (except within an enclosed motor vehicle), pathway, trail or any SROA owned property is prohibited unless specifically permitted by signage
All vehicles must be parked in the driveway or garage. On-street parking is prohibited. RVs, boats, and trailers cannot be parked at the home for more than 48 hours. These vehicles/trailers must be parked in the owner’s storage area located by the police station once that time frame has passed. Guest(s) must arrange space via the Sunriver Owner’s Association during regular hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The phone number is 541-593-2411. The only exception is if the RV is the only form of transportation and it must completely fit in the driveway.
Most of our homes at least have a basic cable package, but for any homes that do not, they are required to have at least a smart tv and or DVD player. Please Refer to the RueBaRue Digital Guide that is in the home for any questions, or feel free to give us a call.
We do have High-Speed WiFi in all of our homes. Look in the property description for details. (Cascara is not responsible for events out of Cascara’s control, such as natural or man-made disasters, an electrical blackout, or loss of telephone service/internet, and no refunds will be given.)
Gas BBQs, along with propane, are provided in all of our homes. Charcoal BBQs are not permitted in Sunriver because of fire danger.
Yes. High Desert Medical Center is located in Sunriver at 541-593-5400. The nearest pharmacies are at Wal-Mart and Walgreens in Bend (about 15 miles north of Sunriver).
Sunriver is a 3,340-acre resort and residential/recreation-oriented community located 15 miles south of Bend in Central Oregon. Over 1800 people make Sunriver their full-time home and dozens of other families spend up to several months a year in the Central Oregon sunshine. Everyone can find something to do here. Recreation facilities include two 18-hole golf courses, pickleball and tennis courts, 33 miles of paved bike paths, the Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic and Recreation Facility (SHARC), stables, an ice rink/mini-golf course, marina, Nature Center, white water rafting, canoes, and Nordic and Alpine skiing nearby. There are over 30 miles of bike paths in Sunriver. Many of our guests prefer to bring their own bikes. Many homes include bikes, but there are also rental shops in Sunriver. Bike paths are patrolled and tickets are issued when the displayed signs are disobeyed. All children under the age of 16 are required, by Oregon State Law, to wear helmets (you must provide your own helmet). There are many other Sunriver activities available, as well. Motor vehicles and in-line skates (roller blades) are not permitted on the bike paths.
